As Director of Special Pedagogic Projects, Jenevieve DeLosSantos oversees initiatives related to undergraduate education including the Interdisciplinary Research Teams and “Voices of Diversity: Rutgers Student Stories” program. A member of the Teaching and Learning team, she hosts the bi-weekly web series “Tea and Teaching with Jenevieve” on pedagogical topics, with a special focus on inclusive and equitable teaching. Her current research is on trauma-informed pedagogy and inclusive, equitable teaching practices in art history; she is an active member of the SAS OUE Coalition for Anti-Racism, Social Justice, and Equity (CASE).

Ying Hung's research areas include experimental design, statistical modeling for computer experiments and uncertainty quantification, with applications to science and engineering. As a woman in STEM, she has long understood the need to pursue diversity, equity and inclusion and providing role models telling students “you can do this.”

Jeffrey Lawrence’s research and teaching focus on 20th- and 21st-century US and Latin American literature.  He is currently working on a book project that reads major US literary texts from the 1950s forward in relation to social movements, including the Civil Rights, Black Power, women’s liberation, Chicanx, conservative, Occupy, and Black Lives Matter movements.

Teresa Leyro studies the intersection of substance use and emotional distress with an emphasis on understanding cognitive, affective, and autonomic processes. She has a longstanding interest in the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion and is the former Chair of the Diversity and Climate Committee in the Department of Psychology and Rutgers representative to the BRIDGE Psychology Network.

Christina Pasley is a director of administration who provides overall operational, and financial support for the centers and projects affiliated with the office of the Executive Vice Dean. Professionally and personally dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion, she is currently working on a book project that discusses the impacts of diversity, equity, and inclusion on the family structures of marginalized groups.

Javier Robles is a Juris Doctor graduate of Seton Hall Law School and majored in Sociology and Puerto Rican and Caribbean Studies at Rutgers. He teaches disability studies at Rutgers and is an advocate for persons with disabilities. He is the Chair of the New Jersey Disabilities Covid-19 Action Committee, was appointed by Gov. Murphy to the Puerto Rico Commission, and Vice President of the Latino Action Network of New Jersey.

Diana T. Sanchez is a diversity science scholar whose research examines stigma, identity, intergroup bias, and close relationships. Dr. Sanchez is Puerto Rican and White, which motivates her science and advocacy for others who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. She has over 15 years of experience participating in and leading DEI initiatives in the Department of Psychology, at Rutgers, and in the scientific community.

Sangya Varma, Ph.D., is a scientist, inventor, and innovator with demonstrated accomplishments in building and leading education and workforce development programs; grants procurement and completion; technical ability in intellectual property contributions through medical devices discoveries; and industry experience in FDA approved product development. In MPS, she is responsible for program development at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and division-wide DEI activities.
